Mitsubishi Electric to build new factory in India

The new factory, which is expected to start operations in December 2023, will manufacture inverters and other factory automation (FA) control system products, expanding the company&#39;s capabilities to meet growing demand in India. The fast-growing Indian market is expanding at an annual rate of about 8%, mainly in the automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, data center and textile industries, and the market is expected to expand further in the future.</span></p><p><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Mitsubishi Electric&#39;s FA control system business in India started in the mid-1990s, and since the acquisition of a local FA control system manufacturer in 2012, the company has continued to strengthen its local business structure by building a local engineering team, expanding its service and support capabilities, and Local production of products started in 2013.</span></p><p><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">The new two-story, 15,400-square-meter factory will be built on a 40,000-square-meter site near Pune, Maharashtra, and will help expand Mitsubishi Electric’s production capacity to meet local demand for products, And contributed to the &quot;Make in India&quot; initiative promoted by the Indian government.</span></p><p><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">In addition, the new plant will incorporate various features aimed at reducing CO2 emissions through the use of high-efficiency air-conditioning systems and LED lighting, achieving carbon neutrality, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through underground filtration treatment and greenery for reuse of wastewater.</span></p><p><br/></p>
